Does anyone know the steps to finding the Ricoh University Schedule? If so, could you please log in and share it with the rest of us? Please, please, please.

Changing MyRicoh data.

Q: I have a customer set up on MyRicoh and we have replaced their Aficio 470w with a new Aficio 480w.

I am having problems deleting the 470w and I'm unable to get the service number on the new 480w.

A: To start there are 2 sections that I'll be talking about.

The first is the Full Equipment List. This list comes from the D1 servers and the way items change is by first correcting the D1 data and then on the 1st or 15th of each month the D1 data is uploaded to MyRicoh. Once these steps have taken place you can see the change in MyRicoh. In other words, if D1 is correct then after the upload to New Jersey MyRicoh will be correct. Lots of people have access to D1 but sometimes changes to D1 data needs several departments' involvement.

This also means that MyRicoh cannot change D1's data. The connection between the 2 servers is mono-directional.

The second is My Equipment List. This is the list that customers use for ordering supplies, request service, etc.

At the end of each line is a Delete link. If you click the Delete link you will be given a choice to 1. Send to Trash or 2. Cancel.

If you send the item to the Trash by mistake you can restore the item by clicking on the Trash Can link at the bottom right corner of the page.

HTML Lotus Signature

Q: How do I add an image to my signature

A: Notes lets you create personal signatures using HTML so that you can add an image (graphic) file to it.

The file can exist anywhere in your operating system, but you may want to store it in your Notes Data folder for convenience. C:NotesData

You can use these image files (.JPG, .BMP or .GIF)

Tip You can use an animated .GIF. For better mail performance, make sure that the file size of the image is not too large.

Here's the HTML you can use.

Open Notepad - Start >>> Accessories >>> Notepad

Copy and Paste this code in to Notepad and save the file like...

JereSignature.html (you'll probably have to actually type in ".html" because Notepad will automatically use .txt.

Save the file in My Computer >>> Local Drive (C:) >>> Notes >>> Data

Next copy all of the images you'll be using in to the same folder/directory. My Computer >>> Local Drive (C:) >>> Notes >>> Data

*****Begin html*****Copy from <html> to </html>

<html>
<body>

  <img src="ricoh_logo_icon.gif"><br>

714-448-0386 (mobile)<br>
714-842-7985 (fax)</p>
</body>
</html>

*****End html*****

The above code will look like this. Jennifer said it works fine too.

You can also right-click on the Ricoh logo here and choose "Save Picture As..." to use this image in your signature.

714-842-7985 (fax)

Change the line <img src="ricoh_logo_icon.gif"> to the name of the image you'll be using.

Also be sure to change all of the names and phone numbers to yours. You can add more images to your signature by adding more of these lines: <img src="ricoh_logo_icon.gif">

I do not recommend using Microsoft Word to create the HTML because Word uses too much XML scripting for Lotus Notes to understand. Plus the file gets unnecessarily big and may take too long for your signature to show on the customer's computer.

Lotus Notes setup

  1. Open your Lotus Notes email program.
  2. From the menu, choose Actions - Tools - Preferences.
  3. Click the Signature tab.
  4. Select "HTML or Image File," and then click Browse. Select a file type ("HTML Files"), from the "Files of type" list. Browse to the file you want to use. eg: JereSignature.html. Select it and Click Open.
  5. Select "Automatically append a signature to the bottom of my outgoing mail messages."
  6. Click OK.

Enjoy

Make Free 411 Calls

Q: How can I make free 411 (information) calls?

A: Phone companies can charge $1.00 or more for contacting them about information on a 411 call.

The next time you need to use 411 Directory Assistance simply dial 1-800-FREE-411 or 1-800-373-3411.

There may still be a service charge but at least you won't get a connection charge (800 numbers are free).

This works on Home and Cell phones too!

Delivery Schedule Printing

Q: How do I print the Delivery Schedule?

A: The printable delivery schedule's fonts are as small as they can go. They are values from 6 (the largest) to 1 (the smallest) and the printable delivery schedule is currently using value 1 (one).

There 3 settings you can change on your Browser that will help to get the complete delivery schedule's width to print on one page.

1. The easiest might be changing the orientation of the paper from Portrait to Landscape when you're printing.

2. The next easiest method would be to open your Browser and click on the menu options View and then Text Size and choose the Smallest option. From there you can print the page. (just don't forget to change it back or else all of your printing will use that 'Smallest' font setting.

3. If those 2 don't help enough you can try the following: (and a combination of any of these should really help)

Open your Internet Explorer Browser.

Click on File and then Page Setup.

Remove all text in both the Header and Footer.

In the Margins section type in a 0 (zero) for the value. The Browser will automatically change your zero to the smallest margin possible. Something like .25 and/or 0.066 depending on what box it is.

Changing the margins will get you the maximum surface area to print on.
